The Last Lap !

Yeah I have'nt written for a while…I felt like I was running out of thoughts. Which in the spiritual sense is state to be in. However I yet have a long way to go to arrive at that state of complete stillness. I just didn’t have thoughts worth penning down. Today I do !

The last lap of any race, why does it seem the longest when u can clearly see the finishing line?
Why does it make u restless and impatient?

It’s not winning or loosing at that moment, the task is just getting across the line …yet strange thoughts of not be able to make it, why do they need to arise?

Why does the belief that u have been holding onto that u are going to make it dwindle?

Why do small hurdles worry u ?

It’s the last lap for heaven sake…why is so difficult to hang in there a little bit?

You know its going to take u to ur victory no matter if it was just the race of ur life and maybe there were no competitors.

It was ur race alone and you have been determined to win it not matter what …its not worth giving up at this stage…

Victory is just few steps away!

good to see that you haven't yet reached that stage(i mean good for us readers).

talking of the last lap. the last lap is actually a state of mind, which for the lack of a better word, i would like to call a delirium. when nothing else seems to be functioning in your mind, you only see the finish line, and understand(and sometimes dont even understand) that you are racing to it. all that matters is that we run abreast of the tape.

everything else gets drowned out into the silence, the crowd, the noise, the cheering, the catcalls, the booing, in fact , your own breathing in all its puffing and panting seems muted, because the only thing you hear is the silence(you hear a lot of things, but the only sound your mind processes is the silence.

that probably is what the last lap is all about, the single-minded focus on victory.
